The term ikat derives from the Indonesian term "mengikat" meaning "to tie" which references the unique technique used to make this beautiful dress.
Pax Philomena is proud to be supporting the artisans in India who still weave these intricate ikat fabrics. Our founder Jean Marie Clarke visited the villages in the south of India where these fabrics are woven, and personally purchased them herself from the artisans who wove them. She then had them made into these beautiful limited edition dresses just for you!
